My hike up to Josephine Peak in the Angeles National Forest.

I sat on this peak 3 months ago contemplating life and trying to understand the how, what, and why of why everything I had spent decades building felt so fragile. 3 months later and I see clearly that it’s in those moments when you feel the most vulnerability and apprehension that your vision, your sense of right and wrong, and your commitment to what you believe in, no matter how hard or terrifying it may be, that is what will carry you through. As I look out from this peak, I’m reminded that success is never to be given, and always to be earned. What felt fragile before now feels like a bedrock of strength.
