A weekly list of the best in Campy Horror, from Nosferatu to Piranha 3D

This week’s campy horror recommendation is the original Halloween. Some might take exception to a horror classic like this being called campy, but it seems to be a fitting descriptor with the hilariously 70s feel of every single scene, and even every single shot found in this film.  The teenagers in this film bring the camp in buckets, running around and doing whatever they can to be better fodder for Michael Myer’s murderous rampage. Slasher films in general often provide some of the best camp in my opinion, something that contrasts really well with the genuinely scary moments throughout. This film is much more enjoyable without its camp factor than prior list items, yet there’s still more than enough ironic enjoyment to be gleamed here.
